Ocean Universal in Westcourt carries a proper spearfishing selection. Makes sense — the shop started as Spearfishing Superstore, so spearfishing view site hasn't gone anywhere.

In stock you'll find rail spearguns, camo wetsuits, carbon and fibreglass fins, low-volume masks, weight belts, floats, dive knives, and general spearo accessories. Everything's chosen for tropical waters — not imported cold-water stock that wasn't made for FNQ.

The name changed to Ocean Universal because they'd already added scuba and freediving equipment over the years. But spearfishing gear is still there. Spearfishing is still central to what they do.

The team are local spearos and can help with what works on FNQ reefs.
